Turtles

While driving through the parking lot we saw a lady selling fresh water turtles. Lukas immediately decided that he needed one. I made him get out and ask the lady how much they were. $20. He said he only had $10 but he really wanted one. After some discussion with Drue, who has more money than any of us, they decided to split the cost of the turtle. We checked with Dad and got an ok. Lance and I went up to the table, as they were selling Rotweilers (sp) right next to the turtles and the kids were scared to death, and inquired about the life span and difficulting in raising turtles. They are pretty easy to care for, BUT they don't really like to be alone. Of course not! Sooooo, the older kids bought one turtle and Mom and Dad bought another turtle for the younger two as they don't have money to spend. At home we gave the bigger turtle to the boys and the smaller turtle to the girls. Hopefully, these will last longer than our fish.

Mema

Mema came out the Arizona to spend a week with us. We didn't do anything special or see any wonderful sights, but we did have a great time. She just joined in to daily life in the Freitag household. I think that was enough excitement for her. Our house is a little more active than hers. I didn't get nearly as many pictures as I wanted of her visit, but did manage to get a few of the kids dancing while we were eating lunch. They were quite entertaining. Guess she did get some sight seeing during the visit.

Launie

I was trying to take of picture of her taking care of her baby. She wanted me to take a picture of her baby instead. She is saying "Cheeeeese" for the baby.
Driving the "Choo-Choo" at the mall. She did let the other kids ride in the back but she was the only one allowed to drive. (No, we did not pay 75 cents to make the ice cream truck move. They had a lot of fun without any money.)
This is a picture of our shoes lined up at the back door. Notice the tiny pair of pink shoes. This is where Launa keeps her baby doll's shoes. I saw her playing in the shoes a week or so ago and told her get away from them (as she likes to try on everyone's shoes and wear them around the house and leave them wherever she takes them off). After realizing that she left the area without putting on anyone's shoes(and being stunned that she actually obeyed), I went to check out the situation. It took me a while to find the pink shoes. The shoes are still there today. She takes them and puts them on her baby while they are playing and then returns them when it is time to clean up. I think she gets that from her Dad. He's the one that makes us line up our shoes from biggest to smallest.

DRUE IS TEN

Drue has hit double digits and she is super excited! She had to spend her actually birthday catching up on school. We took her to the mall on Thursday to spend her birthday money. She bought a pair of shoes and a guitar. I will have to post pictures of that later.

We took her horseback riding for her birthday!

Beatin' The Heat

Drue lost her tooth at the Park.
Spraying their sister.
We had a "Popsicle in the Park" day with the kids' teacher for the end of the year. The kids had so much fun and even convinced Launa to get wet before we left.
